If your projector has a carousel, load each slide in each slot individually. Take care to put them in order and facing the right way (back to the light). The carousel will probably have numbers along the edge. Place the carousel in the projector (you don't have to get it perfect, you can advance until you find the first slide). Focus the projector by twisting the lens until the image is clear, then start your presentation. Make sure the projector's fan has a clear, unobstructed area around it.
Some projectors are more primitive. My family has one with a small metal wheel that can hold 4 slides, and you have to manually insert and remove them as you go along.
If your projection bulb burns out, carefully remove it and take it to a photography shop. They can probably find a replacement for you. Be aware that some bulbs can be very expensive.
