Bust Apart A Long Computer Printout

Field Data Processing and Computer Programming
Went Obsolete around the early '90s
Made Obsolete By the demise of line printers, the rise of laser printers
Knowledge Assumed Knowing where one job ended and the next begins…
When useful Hmm….
  • Take a stack of printed fan-folded paper
  • Thumb through the folds to see where one person's print job finishes,
  • Slide your hand between the paper and use the the flat of your hand (i.e., along the fifth metacarpal) to rip along the perforations. Using the flat of your hand prevents papercuts.
  • Place that person's print job in their cubby hole.
  • Repeat to the end of the stack.
